If you’ve wondered where actor Daniel Day-Lewis has been the past five years, you aren’t alone. After portraying Abraham Lincoln in the 2012 biopic Lincoln, the three time Oscar-winning actor decided to take a five year hiatus from the big screen. On September 8th, it was reported that Lewis will be back in a movie theater near you sooner than later.
Focus Features won the auction rights for a new movie featuring Day-Lewis and director Paul Thomas Anderson. The new film will again bring the two together. They previously worked together on the highly acclaimed 2007 feature film, There Will Be Blood.
The new film will reportedly be set in the 1950’s and be centered on the fashion world. Shooting will begin next year and the release date is tentatively set for the end of 2017. Fans of film have been anxiously awaiting the famous method actor’s return to the big screen and this film shouldn’t’ disappoint. Anderson, whose directing track record includes Magnolia, The Master, Boogie Nights and Inherent Vice should be able to give us yet another interesting and unique vision.
